Kahoot.it - Scam, Fraud, Incompetent or Just a Mistake?

Update

The team quickly reverted back. They said I should get the extra money back in 3 to 10 working days. Will wait for it. Inability to have a realtime chat or call created some confusion. Again, I should also not have overreacted without giving them enough time to respond.

I am doing most of these things on my free time to help teachers and students who are new to online mode of learning due to Covid-19. And most of these I do it for free or personal expense. I am exploring all features of Kahoot so that I can help more teachers and students in need.

I am not deleting the post (at least until money is credited back) as I took time to write, and it may help also help Kahoot improve the user experience for others.

I bought two accounts for around 70 dollars each on offer. To add them into a school I was charged 140 each additional. Is it right? Even without offer, the charges for these accounts were 108 dollars. At least I should have told this clearly. So total 210 dollar per account after luring teachers with 72 dollar offer. Kahoot talks a lot a about supporting teachers during time of covid-19, but I felt cheated instead and looks like they are making extra money from the teachers. Moreover all these changes were made on the school account (including charging credit card) based on a chat in a non-school email.

We were experimenting with Kahoot and created few accounts from few ads. Even though we provided school name, there was no virtual connection. While one of us joined on an ad that said $12 plan at $6 per teacher/month for first year, others joined on a $9 plan at $6. So we paid a total of 216 dollars. While the first plan is called Premium+ district plan, the second one is called Premium+ plan.

From the documentaion, we could not understand the difference between these plans. So we contacted the customer care through email. Email responses took time, but that is expected during Covid-19 times. And the customer care person was actually very helpful. He agreed to help me consolidate the accounts. Even though he did not answer clearly the difference between a premimum+ account and a district account, he said district is not needed for me. He also said he will change the district one into premium+ and then add licenses to one of the account and delete others.

However, I was charged for additional $281 more. So total for three accounts I have paid 497 dollars. I am not able to understand the math here. And another very important fact is that all these consolidation was done based on an email I sent from a gmail account and not from the official mail account. All accounts were under official school domain.

It is sad that there is no way to contact them back and get a response in a timely manner, even for an important billing issue such as this one. They can simply charge your credit card stored with them for $281. It may not be big for everyone, but will definetely be big for someone. Noone is even telling me about the benefit I will receive with this new district wide licence they assigned for me.
