Requested for an airtel connection online. The rep promised to get the connection active the next day morning, but it took days of follow ups to activate. And the first bill for a 499 unlimted everything (including roaming) plan was a bigger surprise: Rs. 2800.
I ordered a connection from a website getmynumber.in. They forwarded it to an Airtel representative. The representative came, gave me the sim, took the documents, took the money as they had mentioned in the website and said my connection will get active the next day morning. Next day went, the day after went and the next. I had to call the rep again and again, send mail to 121@airtel.in, appellate@in.airtel.com etc. and finally it got activated in 5th day. Communication reference number is BAL|Ref57271258.
I had changed the bill cycle and they said it will be prorated. My plan was 499 unlimted everything plan. The first prorated bill after around 10 days was Rs. 2800 plus. Called up customer care and they said they have no idea. Asked to call after two days as they will get the pdf with bill details only after two days. Communication reference number is same again: BAL|Ref57271258.
Why couldn't Airtel just delay showing up the bill amount to customers until all information is available at least with the customer care? Why irritate customers? I think there will be at least few people who doesn't care to wait for the bill and pay whatever show up. I learned one lesson at least: don't ever go with the auto pay option.
Anyway will wait for two more days, what else I can do. Need to wait for 90 days to PORT out as well.

Already two days past after bill generation and customer care asked me to wait for another 72 hours. 5 days to know my bill details after getting the bill amount? Anyway when I asked, they provided a complaint number: 2622644501

Got a call confirmation from Airtel appelate team and later mail from appellate@in.airtel.com that they talked to store and my payment of 2500 will be reflecting in account in 10 days. However they asked me to pay an amount of 347 out of which 166 is plan rental and remaining is tax. Bit confusing and hence I called 121, but they said it might be fixed in 10 days. Will wait, what else to do.

Got another mail confirmation from appellate@in.airtel.com telling both 2500 and tax will be adjusted back in 10 days, however they had still mentioned to pay 347. Bit confusing as 347 cannot be the amount to pay with tax for a bill of 166. So replied back for clarification and waiting for the same.

Finally after lots and lots of follow ups, got money reverted a day before payment due date.
